In 2022 the doors will open to Whyalla Secondary College, a $100-million state-of-the-art facility that will be the first ever school to bring ATRiUM Education to South Australia. KWP! were tasked with developing a brand identity that would capture the hearts and minds of Whyalla’s students, teachers and wider community. Whyalla Secondary College promises to transform students’ potential into possible and – with this logomark and positioning – our branding team sought to demonstrate the inspiring possibilities that spring from the five learning streams of ATRiUM. The result is a contemporary, yet timeless brand mark and type treatment that calls on classic motifs such as two open books that form a W for Whyalla. The brand’s contemporary colour palette adds authenticity to this modern take on a school crest, connecting Whyalla Secondary College’s futuristic facility with its beautiful location – where the land and sea meet in harmony.
